1. Who we are

Emouna LLC ("Emouna", "we"), a Florida limited liability company, operates EQ Coach, a personal development app for iPhone. This policy covers the app and this website, and sits alongside the broader Emouna LLC Privacy Policy. Contact: [email protected] or [email protected].

2. Information we collect

• Account information: your email address and sign in identifier (Sign in with Apple).
• Coaching content you provide: assessment answers, daily reflections, messages to your coach, your goal, and evidence items you save. Photos added to your Evidence Vault stay on your device and are not uploaded.
• Content we generate about you: your steadiness scores, coaching profile (including the pattern profile the AI builds from your answers), rep history, and streaks.
• Subscription status: whether you have an active subscription, received from Apple. We never see your payment card.
• Usage events: product events such as "check-in started" or "plan generated". These never include the content of your messages.
• Diagnostics: crash and hang reports from Apple MetricKit containing technical stack traces, never your content.

3. How we use information

• To run the service: generate your daily coaching, compute your scores, keep your history.
• To process AI requests: your relevant context is sent to OpenAI's API to generate coaching content and voice audio. We send the minimum needed and request that responses are not retained for training. The numeric score is always computed by our servers, never by the AI.
• To improve the product using aggregate, content free usage events.
• To keep you safe: messages are screened by moderation systems; content indicating a safety risk pauses coaching and surfaces crisis resources.

We do not sell or "share" your personal data, use it for third party advertising, or track you across other companies' apps or websites. We use no advertising networks, third party analytics trackers, cross site tracking, or social media pixels. We do not train AI models on your personal data, and we instruct our AI provider not to use your content to train theirs.

3a. Exactly what we send to our AI provider

EQ Coach uses OpenAI as its AI provider. Every AI request is made by our own server; the app on your phone never contacts OpenAI directly, and no AI key exists inside the app. Before any of this is sent, the app shows you this same list and asks you to agree; you can read it again at any time under Profile → AI and Your Data.

Sent to OpenAI, collected from what you type in the app:

• What you write in your daily check-in.
• The goal and focus you write for yourself during setup.
• Notes your coach keeps, derived from your own writing: a short memory summary, goals, fears, situations you avoid, and important events.
• Plain text summaries of up to your last 7 days, and the titles and difficulty of up to your last 5 reps.
• Your six EQ scores (numbers between 0 and 100) and your coaching preferences.
• Your first name, only if you chose to give one, so the coach can address you.
• Your typed text is also checked by OpenAI's moderation endpoint for safety before it is used.

Never sent to OpenAI: your email address, Apple ID, sign in identifier, our internal account ID, device or advertising identifiers, location, contacts, Evidence Vault photos, health data, payment or subscription details, or your full lifetime chat history. Requests carry no identifier that ties them to you, so OpenAI cannot associate a request with a person. The app never records audio, so no microphone data exists to send.

4. Where data lives and how it is protected

Data is stored with Supabase (hosted on Amazon Web Services in the United States). Every record is protected by row level security so only your authenticated account can access your rows. Coaching audio is stored privately and served through short lived signed links. Traffic is encrypted in transit.

5. Your controls (available to every user, free or paid)

• See and edit the coach's memory: Profile → What My Coach Knows.
• Export everything: Profile → Export Personal Data (JSON).
• Delete everything: Profile → Delete Account permanently removes chats, profile, scores, plans, evidence, audio, and your account. Subscriptions are managed by Apple and must be cancelled in your device Settings.

6. Retention

We keep your data while your account exists. Deleting your account removes it permanently. Diagnostics and content free usage events may be kept in aggregate form.

7. Who else processes your data

We share data only with the vendors that run the service, never with advertisers or data brokers:

• Supabase — database, storage, and authentication, hosted on Amazon Web Services in the United States.
• OpenAI — generates coaching text and voice from the minimal context we send, under an agreement not to retain it or train on it. OpenAI acts as our processor and is contractually required to protect your data to the same standard set out in this policy: it may use your content only to return a result to us, may not retain it beyond that request, may not use it to train models, and may not disclose it to anyone else.
• Apple — Sign in with Apple, subscription status, and crash diagnostics via MetricKit.

8. Your regional rights

Wherever you live, you can access, correct, export, or delete your data yourself from inside the app, or by emailing [email protected]. We respond within 30 days.

• EEA and UK (GDPR): you have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection. Our legal basis is performing our contract with you and our legitimate interest in operating and securing the service. Your data is processed in the United States. You may lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
• California (CCPA/CPRA): you have the rights to know, delete, and correct your information, and to opt out of its sale or sharing. We do not sell or share personal information, and we will never discriminate against you for exercising a right.
• Mexico (LFPDPPP): you have your ARCO rights of access, rectification, cancellation, and opposition.

9. Children

EQ Coach is for adults 18 and older. We do not direct the app to children and do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.

10. Changes

If this policy changes materially, we will note it in the app before the change takes effect.
